Six rubbish trucks of edible food are lost or wasted every second, globally. Dealing with the huge amounts of food waste generated every day is obviously a challenge that needs to be addressed from production to disposal.
We must tackle the food waste issue at all the stages of the supply chain. From raw material production in the field and in the barn, over processing, transport, refrigeration and distribution and out into the retail chains to consumers and again after the food is prepared and landed on the plate.
In tackling food waste, we need to be honest about the challenges as well as the opportunities. Look forward to this frank stage session where you get the inside perspective from leading organizations across the value chain on how we do get the most out of the resources in our food production and what challenges they face.
