Circularity Gap Report Denmark – The Earth is Flat

26 APRIL 10.30-11.30 | POLICY ROUND TABLE STAGE

It would be a disaster if the whole world lived like the Danes. Denmark’s World Overshoot Day was March 28th. Which means it took the Danes 87 days to consume the natural resources that our planet can regenerate in a year. We are running our Earth over. That is why we have come to the bitter conclusion that our Earth is flat.

Fortunately, there is a growing realization that this cannot continue.

This year Denmark will get its very first Circularity Gap report which will give us a shared understanding of how circular we are in Denmark compared to the rest of the world. Creating a first benchmark for how circular we are in Denmark, is a crucial first step in reversing the current movement where we extract, produce and consume more resources than are available to us.

Behind the report is the Dutch organization Circle Economy and an alliance of Danish organizations: The Danish Industry Foundation, IDA – The Engineers Association, The Confederation of Danish Industry, The Technical University of Denmark, The Danish Technological Insitute, The Danish Design Center and Lifestyle and Design Cluster. At this debate, you will meet the makers of the report and get insights from Holland, Scotland and Denmark on how the Circularity Gap Report can be used as a catalyst for circular transition both globally and nationally.
